Beach please
Our favorite beaches right around the corner from the pink pineapple cottage.

Nokomis Beach
Nokomis beach is just south of the house and over the bridge. This is our favorite beach and the closest one. It has a beachy vibe, the parking lot is still made of crushed sea shells and it is a beautiful tranquil place. It has nice a nice concession stand and bathroom facilities.
You can find fossilized sharks teeth in the sand if you look for them. The best way to find them is to dig down into the wet sand where the tide meets the dry sand. The teeth are black and you can recognize them by the shape.

Siesta Key beach
There are many beautiful beaches close by, the world famous Siesta Key beach is about 20 mins or so north. It is known for its beautiful quartz sand and is worth a visit if you are interested in seeing it. To be upfront, the parking is more chaotic and the traffic is heavier but it is still a wonderful beach.
-
Turtle beach
Also across the same bridge on the way to Siesta, to the south (left turn) of Siesta is Turtle Beach. It is usually much easier to park at this beach versus Siesta. It is family friendly, and has a playground and picnic area.
-
Venice beach
To the south of us, Venice beach has a fishing pier that makes for a fun visit. Also, there is a place called Sharkey’s with outside dining. Its sister restaurant, Fins, is a higher end restaurant with a great view and nice dining.
-
Lido beach
Similar sand to Nokomis, the furthest away out of the above, but a nice beach as well. If you travel this far, we suggest taking in St. Armands Circle, loaded with shops and restaurants.

Caspersen Beach
Known as the "shark tooth capital of the world," Caspersen Beach is the perfect place to hunt for ancient shark teeth that have washed up on shore. But that's not all this beach has to offer - visitors can also enjoy stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico, take a dip in the warm waters, and even spot dolphins swimming offshore.
